Fun things to do in NYC in the spring?

Every season in NYC is fun... although I do NOT live there---I am only 3 hours away by car and in fact was there LAST NIGHT (Monday)... my FAVORITE thing to do in the spring is to go to a NY Yankee baseball game at Yankee Stadium (from April - sometims November if they get in the World Series)... another thing is Central Park... (boating, horseback riding, biking, fishing, it has almost everything),... also Broadway shows, the Metropolitian Museum, the Googenheim Museum, the Bronx Zoo, Basket Ball (until the end of March) at Madison Square Garden, Hayden Planitarium, A visit to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, or the view from the observation deck of the Empire State Building.. or maybe a HELICOPTER ride at night over the entire city --or during the day as well... or a boat ride up the Hudson River, Most of these attractions are open YEAR ROUND...

Are black pea/trench coats the most popular thing to wear in NYC right now?

I recently went on vacation for the past weekend in NYC, for my 16th.

I saw these ALL over - are they just really popular?

Or do they just sell them a lot there?

Also - why are local nyc teens total douches?

I'd be walking with my friends, while a cute group of teenage boys that were obviously local, started acting like total idiots and harassing an asian woman.

While all of the girls act like stuck up hoes. Are black pea/trench coats the most popular thing to wear in NYC right now?

You can do almost anything in NYC. Go to central park, it has a zoo and a lake and stuff, and you can go on row boats that are really fun. Also Times Square!! Theres always something going on there, and theres a lot of stores and lights and you just cant visit NY without stopping by there. You can also go to china town, everything there is pretty cheap and its kinda nice. Go on the Staten Island ferry its free and it goes right by the statue of liberty so you dont actually have to pay money to go see it and its fun. You can go to some museums or something too. Also coney island might be a pretty good place to go to, its in brooklyn though, and it might scare you a little but its pretty fun :) you can go look up what times square and central park have on those websites, those are like the 2 main places i go to when i visit the city which is like 5 times a week..i cant live without it!!

What are some great things to do near Penn Station, NYC?

My family and I are taking a train trip to upstate NY, and have an hour and fortyfive minute layover in NYC. Someone suggested we go to the Empire State Bldg. but I'm not sure we will have enough time to make it through the lines. I need suggestions on what to do in order to keep my nine yr old busy during our layover. What are some great things to do near Penn Station, NYC?
you are pretty close to times square- i would go there! eat and shop. maybe hit madame tussads wax museam! that will be plenty! What are some great things to do near Penn Station, NYC?
you can go to the air and space museum at the intrepid aircraft carrier. If you will be in the city during the week it should not be too crowded. this week is fleet week so don't go this week. to many people. You can get a cab and be there in 5 minutes it is on 44 street and the Hudson river. What are some great things to do near Penn Station, NYC?
You're only staying in town for almost two hours, which means there is not enough time to get things done around the Penn Station area. Therefore, I would recommend waiting for your train in Penn Station.

You don't have time to go very far, but like people you should probably go toward Times Square. I'd walk up toward 42nd street on 8th avenue, then turn right on 42nd street and just walk around and enjoy the bright lights and the store fronts. There will be a huge mob to get through (mostly tourists like yourselves) and if you get as far as Broadway, you'll see sights you may have seen on TV. Huge lighted ads, bright lights, the whole thing.

Then you might want to splurge on a cab to head back. It will only be a few dollars and you'll have another New York experience.
