I am thinking of going to NYC december 26 and leaving the 30th. What is the best thing for me to do in NYC with my bff. I dont want to look like a major tourist. What is the best thing to do in NYC during christmas time?

There's nothing wrong with looking like a tourist. Why go to NYC at Christmas and not see things that no other city has? Go see the tree in Rockefeller Center. Check out the Radio City Christmas Spectacular show--there's nothing like it. Many stores do amazing window displays, such as Lord and Taylor. The Metropolitan Museum does an beautiful baroque Christmas tree. The Bronx Zoo has a Christmas light display, and the NY Botanic Garden in the Bronx has a garden with trains going through it. There are also holiday events at the South Street Seaport, including the "human Christmas tree."

and maybe you guys can ice skate underneath the tree too. you can also go to Macys on 34th street and see the christmas windows...its really a nice experience.
My friend, if you're looking for bargains, then NYC is the place to shop on the day after Christmas. That's when the store starts their end of the year clearance sale, where everything is discounted.
