Cheap and fun things to do in NYC?

I'm going to NYC for the day on Friday. I'll be getting out at Penn Station. I don't know the NYC all that well, as I've really only wandered Times Square. I know it's a very active city. Any suggestions or ideas for places to go, things to see?Cheap and fun things to do in NYC?
May I recommend a few.



Landmarks



-Empire State Building

-Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island

-Rockefeller Center and the Top of the Rock Observation Deck

-Lower Manhattan/Wall Street Area

-United Nations

-Central Park

-Brooklyn Bridge (you can walk across it too)

-Grand Central Terminal (largest railroad terminal in the country)

-A Ride on the Staten Island Ferry (its free and you can see the Statue of Liberty as the ferry crosses the harbor)

-Sightseeing tour on a Double Decker Bus



Museums (many of them have either free or suggested admition on weekdays -- this varies by museum)



-Museum Mile (Fifth Avenue from East 86 to East 103 Streets)

-Museum of Natural History and the Rose Center for Earth and Space (formerly the Hayden Platerium)

-MoMa

-New Museum of Contemporary Art

-Madame Tussaud Wax Museum

-The Bronx Museum of the Arts

-Brooklyn Museum

-Milk Gallery

-American Craft Museum

-Museum of American Folk Art

-Museum of the Moving Image
