CHEAP things to do in NYC?

My family and i were thinking about going to NYC for a few days.

What are some cheap things to do there? (No clubs/bars)CHEAP things to do in NYC?
Walk on the Brooklyn Bridge - FREE!

Take the Staten Island Ferry - FREE!

Go to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade to get a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline - FREE (except for subway fare.)

Explore Grand Central Station (the beautiful ceiling and the walkways below) - FREE!

Walk around Central Park - FREE!

Go to the Museum of Natural History and the Metropolitan Museum of Art - they give you an admission price (which is high) but it's all voluntary. You can pay as little as a penny and still get in (this is NOT true for any other museums, just those.)

But mostly, walk and walk and walk! You'll really see the City and walking in NYC is so much fun. It's my greatest pleasure to find a cool neighborhood to walk around and just walk!CHEAP things to do in NYC?
~ chinatown and little italy - everything's pretty cheap there, but you have to like handbags %26amp; shopping. you can barter with the chinese for lower prices on their goods

~ go to the top of the empire state building - tickets are about $25 per person, but that's cheap compared to most ticket prices in new york

~ central park! - it's absolutely gorgeous...one of my favorite spots in the city.
May I recommend a few.

-take a walk on the Brooklyn Bridge

-ride the Staten Island Ferry, which is free and you can catch a glimps of the Statue of Liberty as the ferryboat cross the harbor on its way to and from Staten Island.

-take a walk through Central Park

-visit the museums, a lot of them have a special days where admission is either free or a reduce charge.

I hope this information is very helpful.

We just got back from NYC about a month and I'm definitely going back!

We were there for 3 days, but I think 5 days should be enough.

Get the 3+ day NewYorkPass, it will save you a lot of money!

Also, buy your NYC T-shirt ( 5 for 10.99) at Times SQ.

Around Empire State building, they have a lot of cheap NYc sounviers.

Hotel wise, book early. We stayed in Chinatown (Hotel 91) but it's clean and fairly cheap- though you can heard the subway at night, it didn;t bother us. Becareful of big and cheap hotel, I heard it's not clean,, The last thing you want is to bring home some bed bugs.

Broadway Show: If Wicked was too expensive ( it was for us), so we went to see 'Fuerza Bruta", we got a coupon online and pay half price =) so check online! .. Let put it this way, we will never forget this show.. we had a blast!
