Take the Staten Island Ferry from Downtown Manhattan to S.I. You will get a nice view of the Manhattan skyline + Lady Liberty if it's a clear day/night. Some museums have free admission on a certain day of the week. You can check online to see what days they are. You can go ice skating a Bryant Park for free. All you'll need to pay for is the skate rental. Take a walk around the city. There's so much to see. I suggest Central Park. What are some free things to do in NYC?

South Street Seaport (downtown) is my favorite free spot to hang out and pass time. It has shopping and it's right on the water and the view is nice and it's a great place to go to relax. Also, battery park is close by as well and that's another great big park along the Hudson river and you can see the statue of liberty and theres get views. Walking through times square can take up some time and it's free. I guess any sightseeing is free and fun. Just walking the streets and checking out parks like central park, theres always a lot to see there. Have fun!
