Best places to visit or things to do, In NYC?

I'm going to NYC in August for vacation :) I'm super excited, but I would love some ideas or opinions on what the best things to do or visit there.

Good luck! :)Best places to visit or things to do, In NYC?
Restaurants:
There are over 25,000 restaurants in the city but here are some of my faves (google them!)

1. Lombardi's Pizzeria on Spring St. I think it's only 1 of 2 coal oven pizzerias in the city. Perfect classic New York Pizza. Zagat rated it best pizza on the planet. I believe them xD You MUST go here. It's not optional.

2. Max Brenner's on Broadway near Union Square. The food is good, but not NEARLY as good as their chocolate desserts. I mean they're so rich... But it's usually packed, I think it's worth it

3. 5 Napkin Burger. The one I went to was in Queens and I assume you're staying in Manhattan, I think they have a location in Hell's Kitchen, GREAT BURGERS.

4. Tony Dinapoli's in The Theater District. Good Italian food and enormous portions

Entertainment/ Tours
I've been to the city so many times but I still enjoy taking the tours over again

1. Circle Line 3-hour tour. If you've got some time to spare. this cruise takes you around the WHOLE island of Manhattan. You get to go under all of the bridges and see 4/5 boroughs (heh no Staten Island) Oh, you also get to see the Statue of Liberty up close. It's really cool and a unique way to see the city.

2. There's always the Broadway Show. I'd suggest Billy Elliot and (if it's still on) West Side Story, and wonderland.

3. Just walk. If you really can take it in and appreciate it it's really nice to just walk around Manhattan. I mean the people as well as the neighborhoods are very diverse. Like, Greenwich Village is so much different from Midtown for example. Walk as much as you can and all over!

4. Central Park. Beautiful Beautiful Central Park, I love it. It's fun to just wander aimlessly in. I want to go back and spend more and more time each time I come back to New York

5. Empire State Building Observatory. Obviously amazing views in all directions, which IS BETTER THAN TOP OF THE ROCK. It is. You can see wayyyy more.

6. Night Bus Tour. http://www.citysightsny.com/tourpage.php鈥?/a> It's amazing, you start in Times Square, then go over the Manhattan Bridge into Brooklyn for a great view of the lower Manhattan skyline. Also do the day one!

7. The Tenement Museum on Orchard Street. Very cool museum. You get to go into a tenement form the 19th century and kinda hear the stories of the people who lived there. It's way more interesting than I thought it would beBest places to visit or things to do, In NYC?
Lower Manhattan: Ground Zero/9-11 Memorial; NY Stock Exchange; boat to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island (same boat, one price, get off at either or each and explore, take a later boat onward, start early as long lines form)

Midtown: Times Square (some interesting ethnic restaurants); Empire State Building; Fifth Avenue; United Nations (gift shop has stuff from over 100 countries, and there is no sales tax)

Uptown: Central Park; Metropolitan Museum of Art; Museum of Natural History

Way Uptown: The Cloisters (most beautiful spot in all New York); Dyckman House Museum

Bronx: Yankee Stadium; Bronx Zoo

Brooklyn: NY Aquarium; Coney Island; go to the area around Church Avenue between 12 and 20 streets for a wide collection of ethnic foods
