If you have the time, visit the USS Intrepid Museum. It's the big gray ship on the west side of Manhattan with a bunch of aircraft on the top deck.

And take the Circle Line tour, if it's running.Going to NYC! Fun inexpensive things to do?

Walking the streets of New York City is quite fun and free of course. Explore Times Square and Rockefeller Center, then head downtown to the West Village and Soho. I would go to Union Square, especially if it is warm or Washington Square Park. Time Square is great to visit at night. Taking the subway is the cheapest way to get around. There are great places to get a cheap meal, Rays Pizza, Gray's Papaya or Suzies Chinese restaurant on Bleeker Street. The area around New York University has some reasonable places to grab a drink or a meal. If you really want to explore try some of the Downtown Brooklyn area as well. It is like a little Manhattan.Going to NYC! Fun inexpensive things to do?
May I recommend the following.

-Times Square (no trip is complete without a visit to the"Crossroads of the World")

-Lower Manhattan/Wall Street Area

-United Nations

-Central Park

-Brooklyn Bridge (you can walk across it too)

-Grand Central Terminal (largest railroad terminal in the country)

-A Ride on the Staten Island Ferry (its free and you can see the Statue of Liberty as the ferry crosses the harbor)

Good luck
Definitely, make sure you have good walking shoes. Plan to walk along 5th Avenue and see all the fancy stores...

Visit Central Park and walk around...

Check out The Staten Island Ferry (near Ground Zero, in Downtown Manhattan.) You can take the Ferry round trip, back %26amp; forth to Staten Island. It's free! It's normally for commuters from Staten Island, but anyone can take it. Great views of the harbor and lower Manhattan.

Don't be afraid to just pop into McDonald's for lunch, or grab a hotdog from a street vendor.
