I'll be in NYC for the first time in late November 2009. I don't want to do the tourist thing, so I'm looking for suggestions for weird/off-the-wall things to do in NYC.Weird things to do in NYC?
Well, the link below is to a webpage about "Ten Things NOT To Do In New York City" that offers good "alternative" suggestions to do instead, so maybe you'll find something good in there?...Weird things to do in NYC?
I like to eat at random places that only have one type of food.
Crif Dogs: Only serves hot dogs (http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/crif-dogs/)
S'Mac: Only serves mac and cheese (http://www.smacnyc.com/)
A Salt and Battery: Only serves fish and chips (http://www.asaltandbattery.com/)
Peanut Butter Sandwich Shop Co.: Only serves peanut butter and jelly (http://ilovepeanutbutter.com/sandwichshop)
the East Village is definitely a fun place to go if you just have time on your hands. Found a 7-foot-tall Japanese tanuki with glowing eyeballs.
Supposedly, there's a McDonald's with a chandelier around Wall Street...I haven't found it yet, but I'm trying.
The Horror Film Festival is in November: http://www.nychorrorfest.com
There is also a restaurant called Ninja NYC that is built to look like a ninja dojo and the waiters are dressed like ninjas. http://www.ninjanewyork.com/Weird things to do in NYC?
You can go to Sheep Meadow in Central Park %26amp; sunbathe in the nude.
You can go to the zoo %26amp; sexually harrass the monkeys.
You can take mushrooms %26amp; drift around the lake in the paddle boats in Central Park.
You can go to the top of the Empire State %26amp; fling pennies over the edge when no one is looking %26amp; come back down %26amp; see how many people you've killed.
You can walk in Tiffany's %26amp; hold it up at gunpoint.
You can go to Harlem %26amp; start a race riot.
.
The list is endless depending on how 'weird' or 'off the wall' you wanna get.
.
Have fun!!Weird things to do in NYC?
