I'll be going in August or September and I've never been there before. Where are some neat places to see or visit? Any good shows I should see or resturants I should eat at? I am going with my dad and I'm going into 8th grade if that helps. Thanks in advance! What are some good things to do in NYC?
here are some suggestions and tips from our personal experience:
we went to NY for a week and stayed at the Hilton Embassy Suites.
we had a blast!!!
there's a book called Lonely Planet (NYC)
it is a really really helpful book for tourists like us because it includes walking tours, etc, and places to eat.
you should visit Serendipity for dessert :)

by the way, instead of waiting for hours in line to get to the statue of liberty, you may opt to have the NY waterway tour instead. This way, you will save enough time to tour other parts of the city :)

there's also the famous BULL at the financial district :)
you should also try the yummiest Pizza Margherita at 'Lil Frankie in East Village ^,^
if you have more time, try walking the stretch of Brooklyn Bridge.

this serves as an exercise too.. hihihi
also, do visit Saint Patricks's Cathedral at 5th avenue.
don't miss to go inside.
it's wonderful!!!
we also went to Top of the Rock instead of the Empire State Building to avoid the long line hihihi because we were afraid we won't have enough time to see other parts of NYC :)
for shopping, you may want to visit Century 21, just across the former WTC.

you should have lunch/brunch at Cafe lalo!!! or at Sarabeth's :)
we chose Cafe Lalo hihihi because of the ambiance and because it's famous.
To relax, try having a picnic at Central Park.

we chose to eat at the top of one huge rock there to have e good view of the whole central park :)
then, we went to MET (entrance is by donation only, you don't have to give 20 USD)
if you're a techie like my friends, you may want to visit the MAC store. it is now a tourist spot because of its unique architecture :p
DON'T MISS eating at PARADOU!!!
it's a MUST!!!
trust me on this!
you also gotta watch a broadway show! definitely!
there's WICKED and SPAMALOT :)

1. Go to Chinatown and go to the most sketchy looking chinese restaurant for lunch. The cheaper looking they are, the better the food. Seriously.
2. Go to a Broadway musical. It's kinda a must experience.
3. Go to the 9/11 memorial.
4. Madame Toussaints museum- Bring a camera and take pictures with the 眉ber realistic looking statues of celebrities and stuff. What are some good things to do in NYC?
You have a wealth of options for NYC including: Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Times Square, Ground Zero. You can see a great map of NYC with a destination overview, tourist attractions and shopping guide at:

I live in NYC. Anyways, you could go to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Empire State Building. You have to go to Kings Plaza to shop. And there's also Chinatown, they have some nice stuff there. You should also see the Verazano Bridge (at night), it's really pretty with the lights and all. It would have been better if you came in July or December because for July, July 4th we have fireworks. And in December, New Year's Eve, the ball drops and we have fireworks.
There are sooo many things to do the list is endless:
You can go to the movies, shop, dine, sight see, take a stroll, browse,.... anything. Use Google search engine website and you'll see.
