Best things to do in NYC in October for an ex New Yorker?

I lived in NYC 10 years ago and once knew every great sight to see and restaurant to eat at and all of the hidden gems, but it has been awhile. Minus the touristy places ( I have seen them all) what are the great places to go now? We will be there for 5 days mid October.

(1) Statue of Liberty 鈥?most touristy place for out-of-town tourists; a lot of New Yorkers have never visited.

(2) Time Square 鈥?crowded, not very far from the MS New York office; there is a place to buy half-priced ticket for Broadway shows for the same night.

(3) The Metropolitan Museum of Art 鈥?one of top art museums of the world; takes more than one day to finish; a stroll in the Central Park afterwards is highly recommended.

(4) Rockefeller Center 鈥?largest Christmas tree in the world (so claimed); NBC TV studio and store are there.

(5) Chinatown 鈥?very crowded, good Cantonese or Sichuan restaurants; next to Little Italy with good Italian food.

(6) The New York Stock Exchange 鈥?the center of Capitalism. Wall Street and Ground Zero are nearby too.Best things to do in NYC in October for an ex New Yorker?
LMAO. Totally know how u feel.

Well Yelp.com is the popular website now to use.

Also timeoutny.com is still good.

check out the new beer gardens, williamsburg brooklyn has blown up and has some great bars rock clubs, and other stuff.

sex museum in midtown by Madison Avenue opened. Wax museum is always a trip.

many of our old great clubs and bars closed.

I live in Queens again so Astoria NY is booming. Museum of moving Image.

And as always, The Metropolitan Museum of Art is always worth that 8th visit. at least for me.

oh, the freedom center (ol world trade center) is open to the public now.
