I always found this event fun: Gay Pride 2008

"Pridefest" and "The March" at 5th Ave. %26amp; 52nd St. to Christopher %26amp; Greenwich St. on Sunday, June 29th, 2008, Noon - End.



I've always had a good time and the people I've meet were/are awsome. This year I'm taking my 1 year old to see to see The March. I love to expose her to every cultural/civic event. You dont have to be LGBT to go, just be you! :)
here are some suggestions and tips from our personal experience:



there's a book called Lonely Planet (NYC)

it is a really really helpful book because it includes walking tours, etc, and places to eat.



try walking the stretch of Brooklyn Bridge.

also, do visit Saint Patricks's Cathedral at 5th avenue.

To relax, try having a picnic at Central Park.

we chose to eat at the top of one huge rock there to have e good view of the whole central park :)

then, we went to MET (entrance is by donation only, you don't have to give 20 USD)

if you're a techie like my friends, you may want to visit the MAC store. it is now a tourist spot because of its unique architecture :pWhat are some free things to do in NYC next weekend?
Take the Staten Island ferry. Free both ways. If you do it in the evening the skyline is so beautiful
