How do you ship your stuff to college when you live really far away?

I live in New york city and im going to college this fall. How do i get my things from NYC to Nashville, TN? (Also, i don't have a car)How do you ship your stuff to college when you live really far away?
Depends on what you are planning to take. Try to limit your stuff as much as possible. You don't need lots of clothes if you will just plan to wash them weekly. Same with sheets and towels. Take one set and wash weekly. Even better is to sign up for the linen service at your dorm -- take the dirty ones and exchange them for clean ones weekly. Much easier than laundry.

One way to plan this is to take what you will need for the first two weeks, then have your parents UPS other things to arrive after you do. That way you don't have to worry about who receives the shipment. Do try to prepare a list of what you need and see if there are things you can buy in Nashville cheaper than shipping. For example, you can buy a bed pillow for under $5, but it takes up a lot of room in a box.

Your biggest problem will be buying things without access to a car. There are lots of thrift stores in Nashville, but it won't save money if you have to use a taxi to get there and back. How do you ship your stuff to college when you live really far away?
If you want to ship furniture hire a moving company

For books and small things either UPS or carry with you in your suitcase

Sometimes it makes sense to buy new things rather than hauling old stuff from your homeHow do you ship your stuff to college when you live really far away?
A big suitcase. Ship it by UPS or Greyhound Package Express. Limit it to light high value stuff. Cheap and/or heavy stuff you are better off to buy them there.
