Rent a bike in Bowling Green and ride up the west side. The greenway is complete up to the GW bridge [10 miles] so, NO CARS and you can return the bikes at a number of rental areas. There are many parks, cafes and cool things to see.
I recommend lunch at either North Cove Harbor [Liberty], the Boat Basin [79th], or Pier Cafe [68ish]

you could go to coney island, ride the amusement parks or hit the beach, eat Nathan麓s hotdogs.
have a picnic a central park and go to the central park zoo, where you can feed some animals.
one thing that is really awsome to see is the bodies exhibit at south street seaport

There are lots of things to do in New York. But don't miss the chance to go ice skating at Wollman Rink. You will really enjoy the place.
