Any suggestions for things to do in NYC at night?

I am going on a weekend trip with some friends to NYC. During the day, we know we'll be doing plenty of shopping and stopping at random touristy places, like Central Park. However, we don't know what to do at night! We are all 20 years old, except for one lucky one who is 21. We heard the 19+ nightclubs aren't that good, we probably won't have enough time/money to see a Broadway show, and my friend told me the comedy clubs aren't too great.



What is there to do???Any suggestions for things to do in NYC at night?

Hi, I suggest you go shopping and doing other things at day time, spare Times Square for night.



Personally, I think Times Square at night are fantastic and unmatched. The theaters of Broadway and the huge number of animated neon and LED signs have long made them one of New York's iconic images, so you should not miss this scene.



the tall buildings are glittering and sparkling, showing different info. first-time comers always feel they unconsciously enter a fairyland. the amazing spectacles will look more stunning at night. the shops are unique, even the common things will look fantastic under the light.



as to broadway show, it is not that important if you haven't enough time/money to enjoy it, you can sense the atmosphere enough outside. besides, it is not that crowd at night, quiet and different.

I'm NY born, sadly moved to Texas as a baby. But I still go there every summer.

The nightclubs are pretty good.

The comedy shows are GOOD! Haha.

Central Park and Shopping is must for nighttime.

What's really fun at NYC at night are the local indie shows.

Idk what type of music you like, but there are tons of venues where local bands play every night.

Gah, this makes me feel homesick. :(

Enjoy yourself as much as you can! Walk around in the city and you're bound to find somewhere cool to go. Thats what I always do. :D
