Fun things to do in NYC with a 5 year old?

Hello. I am 25 years old, and my 5 year old daughter has been asking to go to NYC. I am going to do a mommy/daughter trip the end of December. What are some fun things to do, good places to eat, and good things to see.Fun things to do in NYC with a 5 year old?

Take her to see the most famous Christmas tree at Rockefeller center. Go to FAO Schwartz toy store. Go ice skating either at Bryant park or when you see the Tree at Rockefeller center. Take her to the 102nd floor observatory at the Empire state building. Go to Times square, she'll love it. Not good at places a kid might want to eat so my suggestions might not be suitable for a 5 year old. Walk around midtown, you will find something good. Think of it as part of the adventure. Pantomime or similar on or off Broadway. Trip to the Statue of Liberty. Carriage ride in Central Park. Zoo in Central Park. Empire State Building. Rockerfella Centre, the angels should still be there. There is also an ice rink there Book a visit to ground Zero.

May I suggest that you both watch the Home Alone movie set in New York? That way your daughter can recognise some of the land marks.



Did all these with my 10 and 12 yr olds and they loved it
I'll also add The American Museum of Natural History. It has dinosaurs, interesting animals exhibits, live butterflies, etc. It's also indoors, which will give you a break from the cold!
