What are some fun non-touristy things to do in NYC?

I'm not really into things like the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty... I'm looking for some good local things to do there this summer. Thanks!What are some fun non-touristy things to do in NYC?
There's plenty of things to do that are non-touristy such as hitting a comedy club. There are plenty around Times Square and there are people out there at night promoting them. If you walk around Times Square long enough you'll bump into one. There's also Times Square itself which has different things from people breakdancing to artists and whatever else anyone may be doing there to draw a crowd. There's also the Concert In The Park program which is live artists and bands performing in various public parks around the city (well, Bryant Park and Central Park in Manhattan and Prospect Park in Brooklyn to be specific). Of course there's always the bar/lounge/club scene. The East Village is a good place to start if you're into that.What are some fun non-touristy things to do in NYC?
I live in Connecticut but work in New York City so I can tell you that you have to go over to China Town and experience that ! The food the people, the culture ! And go and people watch in Central Park ! Or see a play on Broadway or even off Broadway !What are some fun non-touristy things to do in NYC?
