My family is visiting NYC from June 28-July 3. We have a 1 year old with us. We haven't been to NYC in the summer or with a child so I'm not sure what kinds of things there are to do with children.
Suggestions?
Also, if you know of any attractions/sights/things to do that offer military discounts please let me know.
Thanks!NYC: Things to do w/ kids %26amp; military discounts?
Intrepid museum offers discount for active Navy personal. I am not sure what they charge for a family but the ship is a wonderful thing to check out. They have a submarine there too along with a retired British Airways Concord.NYC: Things to do w/ kids %26amp; military discounts?

well, since the child is only one, he/she probably won't have a preference as to where you go. but check what the weather is going to be like ahead of time and make sure your prepared- and also of course there will be a lot of walking involved and your baby is probably going to get tired of being pushed or carried around, so be prepared for that. i would suggest going to a broadway show- there is a wide range of shows from disney shows, to adult shows. Dylan's Candy Bar is really fun- it's a three story candy store, and any kid would have fun in there. ride row boats in central park or ride in a horse-drawn carriage. there are many children's musuems such as the Children's Musuem of Manhattan or the Children's Musuem of Arts. the Central Park Zoo is fun and just walking in Central Park is nice. there are many animals that you can feed at the zoo and then of course many different animals to look at. Go to Serendipity's and get the frozen hot chocolate, all kids like it. if you have a little girl, go to Alice's Tea Cup in the Upper West side. very neat place. Go to the Scholastic Store, home to tons of children's books. go to F.A.O. Schwartz- a giant toy store, and Toy's 'R Us, the three story toy store with a ferris wheel inside. the New York Aquarium. the Build-A-Bear workshop. Hershey's Store. Musuem of Natural History. American Girl Store- 49th street and 5th avenue.
hope i helped!
